Bentley has not published an electronic media version of the F-30 Repair manual- at least I can not find it on their site. I had the CD-Rom version for my 99 540 and it was great. Still like the hardcopy to quickly reference in the garage flipping between sections quickly. Yes having a hard copy is nice at times but having a digital version on your iPad is much more convenient, especially when searching. Plus you can zoom in and out.

Once I got it in pdf form for my e36 I never opened the actual book again. The Bentley service manual is actually based on the ISTA+ (ISTA/D).

From personal experience doing lots of big jobs on my car the Bentley service manual is sometimes more comprehensive than ISTA. I got my Bentley guide after I did my turbo swap based only on ISTA documents. After reading through the Bentley guide it had all the ISTA steps and instructions in addition to a couple extra steps, pictures, and instructions that would have made the job much easier. I use both ISTA and the Bentley guide for all my maintenance, it's the perfect combination, neither of them alone are really complete.
